Lead Mechanical Engineer – Wastewater Project Delivery

Senior Mechanical Engineer – Thames Water Framework team (Maple Lodge, Rickmansworth)

We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the mechanical engineering aspects of the Maple Lodge project, which includes tertiary treatment renewal, secondary treatment intensification, inlet works improvement, and substantial electrical infrastructure changes.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical engineering from inception to completion, utilising in‑house functions and resources.
• Collaborate with supply‑chain design teams and our design partner to ensure full integration, CDM compliance and constructability of all designs.
• Liaise with the client’s engineering and operational staff to ensure performance indicators are met or exceeded within budget.
• Prepare estimates, quotations, contract documentation and support procurement of plant, materials and specialist subcontractors.
• Mentor and support graduate mechanical engineers, helping them develop their skills and progress their careers.

Qualifications

• Strong working knowledge of waste‑water engineering, including key suppliers and process equipment designs.
• Familiarity with access‑metalwork standards and large‑scale pipework designs for air and water, and ability to review related calculations.
• Experience delivering large waste‑water schemes (over £50 million).
• Ability to lead and manage teams on site, building strong relationships across projects.
• Full driving licence.
