Our client, a highly respected UK-wide multidisciplinary Construction Consultancy, is seeking a high calibre leader to join their thriving Exeter, Devon office. This is a critical leadership position, dedicated solely to the successful delivery of high-value construction and building projects— we are explicitly seeking a Construction specialist, not an IT professional.

Core Responsibilities
- Strategic Project Control: Provide end-to-end (pre and post-contract) project management, ensuring technical and contractual compliance from concept to handover.
- Contract Management Expertise: Expertly manage all standard contract forms, including NEC and JCT, minimizing risk and optimizing project outcomes.
- Financial & Commercial Acumen: Drive project profitability through stringent budget oversight, cost control, and strategic value engineering initiatives.
- Team Leadership & Mentoring: Act as a senior figure, mentoring and developing junior Project Management staff to build internal capability.
- Stakeholder Management: Cultivate and maintain exceptional client and contractor relationships, acting as the primary point of contact for project issues.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum of 8-10 years’ post‑qualification experience gained specifically within a professional Construction Consultancy.
- Hold a relevant Degree in a construction or built environment discipline.
- Professional Chartership is ESSENTIAL. Must currently hold or be actively working towards accreditation e.g., MRICS, MCIOB, or MAPM. Please detail your status in your application.
- Advanced proficiency in project scheduling software e.g., Asta PowerProject or MS Project.
- Exceptional leadership, negotiation, and written communication skills.
