Support and Family Engagement Advisor

Location: Redgate Primary Academy, Somersall Street, Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, NG19 6EL.

Job type: Support Staff – Educational. Basis: Part Time. Hours: 27.5 contractual.

Annual salary: £30,024. Term‑time salary: £19,053.69.

Job overview

Redgate Primary Academy seeks a highly motivated and dedicated Support and Family Engagement Advisor to join their team of talented, supportive staff. The successful candidate will identify needs and provide information, advice and guidance to children and their families, working collaboratively with teaching and leadership teams.

Responsibilities

  • Develop positive relationships with parents/carers and encourage parental involvement in school and its activities.
  • Support inclusive practice, focusing on preventative and early‑intervention activities for vulnerable and “yet to be reached” children and families.
  • Provide support relating to Safeguarding and SEND, working with the Safeguarding Team.
  • Under the guidance of teaching staff and leadership team, implement the agreed academy curriculum.
  • Provide cover for PPA, short‑term absences and support children with their reading.

Essential qualifications

  • Educational achievement sufficient to support clear reporting and presentation skills.
  • Recognised Level 3 qualification (Education or Health & Social Care related).
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Good planning and organisational skills with the ability to manage conflicting demands.
  • Commitment to the safeguarding and welfare of all children and providing equality of opportunity.

Desirable qualifications

  • Experience of delivering teaching sessions.
  • Experience of planning teaching sessions.
  • Knowledge on supporting children with reading.
