The Hampstead Garden Suburb Trust protects, maintains and enhances the unique character of Hampstead Garden Suburb – an internationally important example of early 20th-century town planning and architecture. We are seeking an Architectural Support Officer to join our architectural team.
This is a key operational role, administering applications for alterations to properties, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring processes run efficiently. It combines administration, public-facing work and exposure to architecture, heritage and the built environment.
Key responsibilities
- Administer applications for Trust consent from submission through to decision
- Act as a first point of contact for applicants, architects and agents
- Support the architectural team with application reviews and research
- Maintain accurate records and track applications through each stage
- Prepare decision letters, committee papers and minutes
- Manage consultation processes and application fees
- Respond to enquiries and support the wider work of the office
What we are looking for
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Clear and confident communication
- Experience in an administrative or support role
- Comfortable working with systems and structured processes
- Professional approach to dealing with the public
- Interest in architecture, planning or the built environment (desirable)
Additional information
- Full-time, office-based role in NW London
- 9am – 5pm, with occasional evening meetings (time off in lieu)
- 25 days annual leave and pension
