An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Electrician at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust to join our busy Estates & Facilities Management Team. They will have been trained within their core skill and acquired elements of both Electrical installation and fault finding and diagnostics. With these skills they will have reached a level of flexibility and competence which enables them to achieve and apply these abilities when required to perform across numerous duties, which will include general maintenance and installation on the complex systems that form part of the infrastructure to the site. As the post holder will be meeting patients and members of the public, a smart appearance and courteous disposition is needed.

Responsibilities
- Test, diagnose and repair faults on electrical installations, plant and equipment, and pass on knowledge to others.
- Understand electrical systems including nurse call systems, fire alarm systems, lighting and other general electrical systems to enable diagnostic work and repairs.
- Work with the in‑house maintenance team and independently with minimum supervision.
- Take an active approach to training and development of oneself and other team members.
- Perform a wide range of work of other crafts.
- Manufacture, assemble, erect and install new work.
- Carry out repairs, maintain and efficiently run plant and equipment.
- Use all relevant tools and equipment.
- Participate in learning new procedures and technologies to improve methods of work.
- Perform PPM maintenance on these systems and any other duties delegated by Team Leaders within capabilities.
- Instruct others on the above features and other aspects of electrical work.
- Understand the working of electrical systems within NHS buildings.
Qualifications
- Qualified professional electrician who can bring extra skills to the team and enhance service delivery.
- Adequate understanding of electrical systems in NHS buildings.
- Experience in electrical installation and fault finding & diagnostics.
