Senior Civil Engineer – Wastewater Infrastructure

Pathway to Design Manager

Location: Slough (Hybrid Working)

Salary: £55,000 – £75,000 (DOE)

Type: Full-Time | Permanent

The Role

You’ll lead the detailed design and delivery of wastewater infrastructure projects, supporting technical delivery across multiple schemes while mentoring engineers and technicians within the team.

The role will involve overseeing design development, optioneering and project coordination across wastewater network projects, ensuring compliance with Sewerage Sector Guidance, Water Industry standards and UK regulatory frameworks.

You’ll also support project programming, resourcing and technical review, while working closely with clients, contractors and utility providers throughout project delivery.

What We’re Looking For

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
  • 5+ years’ UK experience within wastewater infrastructure or pipeline design
  • Strong understanding of sewerage rising mains, trunk sewers and drainage hydraulics
  • Experience working to Sewerage Sector Guidance, Water UK and relevant UK standards
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D and hydraulic modelling software such as InfoWorks ICM, MicroDrainage or EPANET
  • Experience reviewing designs and mentoring junior staff
  • Full UK driving licence

Experience with hydraulic modelling, surge analysis, transient flow or pressure management would be beneficial but is not essential.
