Your role will include:
Business Case Development & Investment Evaluation
- Build robust, financially justified business cases with clear problem statements, KPIs, cost/benefit modelling and ROI assessments
- Translate strategic goals into measurable business impacts with clear success metrics and value profiles
- Assess interdependencies, quantify opportunity sizing, and determine value‑driving prioritisation across portfolio initiatives
- Facilitate stakeholder alignment to validate assumptions and secure executive approval
- Drive initiatives from business case to benefit realisation, ensuring that design decisions align with value goals
Benefits Identification, Structuring & Realisation Planning
- Identify value opportunities across process optimisation, digitisation, operating‑model change, and technology enablement
- Define benefits frameworks, including baselines, KPIs, value‑drivers, dependencies, and ownership accountability
- Develop benefit realisation plans that connect programme outputs to measurable business outcomes
- Partner with functional leads, delivery teams and client‑side Finance representatives to validate benefit assumptions
Benefits Tracking, Reporting & Value Governance
- Design and manage benefits tracking systems that provide accurate, real‑time visibility of value delivery (financial and non‑financial)
- Create executive dashboards, reporting packs and value scorecards that track progress against baselines, milestones and KPIs
- Establish governance structures for value assurance, risk/issue management, and benefit‑owner accountability
- Challenge assumptions, identifying value slippage, and recommending corrective action
Business Analysis & Architecture
- Map current vs. future‑state processes, identify pain points, and quantify operational efficiency gains
- Analyse and manipulate large data sets to identify, justify and prioritise efficiency opportunities, such as cost‑saving opportunities
- Define capability gaps and model how changes in systems, people, processes and technology generate measurable value
Project Management
- Manage successful teams, workstreams and engagements on time and to budget
- Manage risks, issues and dependencies to ensure projects are delivered smoothly
Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Influence senior stakeholders, resolve competing priorities, and gain alignment on value targets
- Develop and manage relationships across a broad range of stakeholder groups
- Organise insights and develop compelling narratives to effectively communicate recommendations and business case rationale to clients
Connect to your skills and professional experience (qualifications)
- Proven depth of knowledge of operational dynamics and industry trends in one or more of the following industries: Consumer Packaged Goods, Transport, Hospitality & Services, Retail, Energy & Chemicals, Power, Utilities & Renewables, Mining & Metals, Industrial Products & Construction, Telecommunications, Media
- Experience of financial analysis, including scenario modelling, NPV/IRR, payback, sensitivity analysis, and quantification of tangible & intangible benefits
- Experience working in a Finance or Reporting function, and/or holding management or financial accounting qualifications (e.g., CIMA, ACA, ACCA, CFA)
- Experience of using AI/Automation to accelerate key operational processes and/or optimise ways of working in one of the above sectors
- Experience managing change including stakeholder engagement, communications, and adoption plans to ensure smooth transitions
- Experience operating at a strategic and operational level, balancing long‑term vision with hands‑on execution
- Experience working across a variety of tools such as Excel, Powerpoint, Jira, Data Visualisation (e.g. PowerBi / Tableau) and Process Modelling tools (e.g. Signavio)
- Previous consulting experience, whether as an independent advisor or in‑house
- Experience of a mid‑level operational role in at least one private sector organisation demonstrating knowledge of the overall operating model of that business
- Experience managing a small team
- Educated to degree level or equivalent qualification
