Job Title: Senior Administrator / Assistant to the Town Clerk
Salary: £29,540 up to £31,022
Hours: Full-time, Monday – Friday (flexible hours with occasional evenings and weekends)
If you are highly organised, detail-focused, and enjoy working in a varied and dynamic environment, our client, Evesham Town Council, is looking for a Senior Administrator / Assistant to the Town Clerk to join their small, hands‑on team, supporting the smooth running of council operations and community events. This is a unique opportunity to be at the heart of local governance and make a tangible difference in the community.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive support to the Town Clerk, including diary management, correspondence, and report writing.
- Administer council meetings, including preparation, collation, and distribution of agendas, reports, and minutes; act as minute secretary for committees and working groups.
- Maintain the minute book and councillor attendance records, supporting other meetings as required.
- Organise and attend annual council events, including Mayor-Making, Bonfire, Remembrance Sunday, Civic Service, Christmas events, and Mayor’s fundraising activities.
- Liaise with councillors and the public regarding events such as VJ Commemoration, Battle of Britain Commemoration, and the Mop Fair.
- Handle administrative duties relating to elections, including preparing ‘Welcome Packs’ for new councillors.
- Manage general correspondence, social media, and the council website.
- Provide second‑line reception support, respond to emails, obtain quotes for contracted work, and liaise with contractors as required.
- Undertake other administrative duties to ensure the smooth running of council operations.

- A strong communicator, both written and verbal, with confident report‑writing skills.
