IT Operations Manager

Location: Contracted to our Peterborough office with flexibility for hybrid working. Salary: £40,000–£45,000 depending on experience. Hours: 37.5 hours per week, full time, permanent.

Role Overview

Be part of an energetic and vibrant team dedicated to improving the lives of people living with kidney disease. The IT Operations Manager will lead the day‑to‑day delivery of IT services at Kidney Research UK, ensuring a reliable, secure and well‑governed IT environment that enables colleagues to deliver the charity’s mission. The role owns operational service delivery, supplier and contract performance, infrastructure coordination, and operational cyber security controls. It is both a hands‑on and leadership role, managing internal and external resources to support our ambitious 2020‑2030 strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Own operational service delivery and cyber security controls
  • Manage supplier and contract performance
  • Coordinate infrastructure
  • Lead incident management and root‑cause analysis
  • Translate technical issues into clear updates for non‑technical colleagues and senior stakeholders

Qualifications

  • Demonstrable experience managing IT operations, service delivery and cyber security in a small‑to‑medium organisation
  • Strong practical understanding of Microsoft infrastructures
  • Experience managing outsourced service desks and technology partners
  • Excellent planning, prioritisation, communication, incident management and problem‑solving skills
