Sewell Wallis is looking for a qualified, hands‑on Financial Controller to join a commercial property business based in East Ridings of Yorkshire, near Pocklington. The role involves building a finance team from the ground up and managing day‑to‑day finance functions for a company with an annual turnover of approximately £35 million.
What will you be doing?
- Monthly management accounts, commentary, and presentation of the information to the senior team.
- Budgets and forecasting.
- Cash flow management.
- Statutory reporting.
- Invoice processing (initially, before the team is fully established).
- Development of a finance team from scratch.
- Basic payroll.
What skills are we looking for?
- Qualified Accountant – CIMA, ACCA or ACA.
- Hands‑on approach to management and problem solving.
- Confident communicator, both written and verbal, enjoying collaboration within a lively team.
- Experience leading day‑to‑day finance functions.
- Experience working in a fast‑paced, growing business.
- Capability to create a finance team from scratch.
