Position Description
This is a fixed‑term, full (40 hours per week) training role designed to provide higher sub‑specialty training in paediatric ophthalmology care for up to 12 months. The role is based at Princess Alexandra Eye Pavilion and St Johns Hospital, which is a tertiary referral centre providing acute ophthalmology services for the south east of Scotland.
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical care for all simple and complex acute paediatric ophthalmology problems.
- Participate in and benefit from specialist input on cases requiring higher‑level expertise.
- Develop cataract surgical skill and undertake high‑volume surgery.
Qualifications & Requirements
Applicants will be expected to meet the standard requirements for postgraduate medical training and to complete the NHS Lothian online application form.
Additional Information
The post does not have educational approval from the Postgraduate Dean and will not be recognised for training.
