Role Overview
Full‑time and part‑time posts available. Are you a Learning Disability nurse who is passionate about supporting people with a learning disability through an inpatient journey? The Fife Learning Disability service welcomes registered Learning Disability or Mental Health nurses to join across the inpatient service, covering Assessment and Treatment, Forensic and Bespoke care.
Responsibilities
- Assess and support the health needs of people with a learning disability under the supervision and guidance of a Senior Nurse.
- Conduct Comprehensive Health Care Assessments.
- Perform Health Screening.
- Carry out Risk assessment.
- Provide Mental health assessment.
- Lead multidisciplinary planning and treatment implementation.
- Become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme prior to appointment.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Registered Nurse with Learning Disabilities or registered mental health nurse with a first‑level qualification.
- Knowledge of current legal frameworks to support inpatient care delivery.
- Experience of care planning for complex health care needs.
- Knowledge of PBS (Positive Behaviour Support).
- Understanding of risk assessment.
- Good communication skills with a wide range of individuals and groups.
- Highly motivated, conscientious and a good team player.
- Ability to work flexibly to meet the demands of the Service.
