Senior Information Governance Lead – Data Privacy Strategy

A major public sector transformation programme is seeking an experienced Information Governance Lead to oversee governance, privacy, and security requirements across a large-scale data initiative.

This is a senior leadership role operating within a complex multi-stakeholder environment, helping ensure that governance and compliance requirements are defined clearly, aligned across teams, and delivered in time to support safe live deployment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the Information Governance workstream within a large-scale data programme
• Define and coordinate privacy, security, and governance requirements with stakeholders and subject matter experts
• Translate legal, regulatory, and governance obligations into practical operational and technical requirements
• Shape functional and non-functional requirements, including standards influencing IAM and wider security architecture
• Support safe and compliant data-sharing approaches across complex organisational boundaries
• Provide governance leadership across delivery, architecture, legal, security, and operational teams

Required

• Strong Information Governance leadership experience within large, complex programmes
• Proven experience working in multi-stakeholder data-sharing environments
• Strong understanding of privacy, security, and governance frameworks
• Ability to communicate complex legal and regulatory requirements in a practical and delivery-focused way
• Experience influencing governance and security standards within enterprise-scale programmes
• Comfortable operating in fast-moving, high-profile public sector environments
