The Role

We’re on the hunt for a talented, ambitious Mid‑Level Designer to join the Strafe Creative team. You’ll design seamless, conversion‑focused digital experiences, contribute to strategic design discussions, and play a key role in guiding our junior designers as they grow. With the support of our senior team, you’ll balance multiple projects, lead presentations, and bring bold, user‑focused ideas to life.

We want to give you a clear picture of the type of work you’ll be doing. Most of our projects – around 80% – are focussed on digital design, including UI (User Interface) and UX (User Experience) for websites, digital products, and complex dashboards. The remaining 20% involves branding and visual identity. While those skills are definitely valuable, the core focus of the role is digital design.

What you’ll be doing

  • Designing intuitive, user‑friendly interfaces in Figma that meet technical and client requirements.
  • Reviewing and refining your own work to ensure top quality.
  • Leading by example in client meetings and supporting strategic design conversations.
  • Actively mentoring juniors, sharing skills, and encouraging innovation.
  • Keeping projects on track: balancing deadlines, managing workloads, and flagging bottlenecks.
  • Staying curious; exploring new tools, experimenting with techniques, and contributing fresh ideas.

What we’re looking for

  • Solid Figma proficiency and ability to work efficiently across multiple projects.
  • Confidence presenting ideas internally and to clients.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to uphold design standards.
  • A collaborative mindset—you’ll inspire junior team members while still learning from seniors.
  • Awareness of CMS/CRM systems (Shopify, Craft, WordPress) and how they impact design.

Portfolio Submission Requirements

Our portfolio is the most important part of your application. We require clear evidence of your practical design skills and ability.

  • Preferred Format: We highly recommend submitting your work via a personal website or a single, consolidated PDF document / presentation slides (e.g., Figma slides, Google Slides).
  • Hosting: While we can accept work hosted on third‑party sites (e.g., Behance, Dribbble, Notion), we strongly advise against this as the best way to showcase your skills. A dedicated site or document gives you complete control.

Practical Checks: Please ensure your work is easy to find!

  • URL: Double‑check that all links are correct and load instantly. Broken links are a red flag. If password protected, please make the password readily available as part of your application.
  • File Size: If submitting a PDF, please keep the file size to under 20MB for easy downloading and review.

In your portfolio we’d like to see a high level of autonomy and a good level of experience in delivering digital projects.

  • Content: Please showcase 3 to 6 primarily digital‑based projects that demonstrate your expertise.
  • Process & Execution: These projects should clearly demonstrate the end‑to‑end design process, from the initial brief through to final execution and delivery.
  • Collaboration: For any projects involving collaboration with different departments or team members, please clearly indicate your specific level of involvement and responsibilities within the final outcome.
  • Core Fundamentals: We expect to see confident and advanced levels of use of typography, colour, spacing, and fundamental UI elements underpinned with UX best practices.

Applicants must be UK based, and eligible to work in the UK.
