Field PAT Testing Engineer – Flexible Hours

Job Overview

JR PAT Testing is a rapidly growing PAT and Compliance company. We are looking to hire self‑employed PAT Engineers to perform portable appliance testing across the UK, starting in Ballymoney. The position is flexible, part‑time or full‑time, with earnings based on test volume.

Job Responsibilities

• Travel to scheduled sites such as hospitals, retail outlets, and other workplaces to conduct portable appliance testing (PAT).
• Use test instruments to examine appliances (microwaves, kettles, computers, etc.) for safety compliance.
• Record findings on paper or electronic reports and provide completion certificates to clients.
• Explain results to site users and recommend repair or replacement when necessary.
• Maintain all testing equipment, ensuring it is calibrated annually and in good working order.
• Arrange travel and transport logistics to meet client deadlines.

Qualifications

• Own or have access to PAT testing equipment.
• Hold a valid City & Guilds 2377 PAT qualification or equivalent.
• Possess commercial vehicle insurance (if driving).
• Be reliable, honest, and possess a ‘can‑do’ attitude.
• Good organisational skills and ability to work independently.

Employment Details

• Type: Self‑employed contractor.
• Location: Ballymoney and surrounding commutable areas; national travel possible.
• Salary: Pro‑rated earnings per appliance, based on job size; discussed individually.
