PAT Testing Engineer Newport

About the Role

JR PAT Testing is growing across the UK and is looking for experienced PAT Engineers who are self‑employed and have their own insured equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform portable appliance testing at sites such as hospitals, retail outlets and offices.
• Use testing instruments and record data in dedicated test report books or electronic systems.
• Inform users of results, explaining any needed repairs or replacements.
• Complete completion certificates, checklists and additional paperwork.
• Travel to and from sites, operating the van independently or as part of a team.
• Maintain all equipment and ensure it is calibrated at least once a year.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds 2377 PAT qualification or equivalent.
• Own insurance and licensed testing equipment.
• Ability to travel to Newport or within a reasonable commuting distance; willing to travel nationally.
• Reliable, honest and willing to work part‑time or full‑time, with flexible hours.

• Location: Newport, with commutable areas; national travel possible.
• Salary: Discussed per job when booking; potential earnings on a pro‑rata basis.
