Our onboarding process starts with a friendly conversation. All our engineers are to have their own insurance and to have their equipment calibrated at least once a year. In return, along with our engineer handbook, contract for services and branded clothing, we supply labels and technical support.
Job Description
JR PAT Testing is an expanding PAT and Compliance Company currently looking for engineers to join our team in Crieff. We offer self‑employed positions with flexible hours, allowing interested individuals to work either part‑time or full‑time.
Although we understand that some may travel further afield, we require that all applicants have a reasonable commuting distance of Crieff or closer.
This role offers potential earnings on a pro‑rata basis depending on the rate per appliance, the number of tests and job dynamics. Our jobs range from one‑day projects to long‑term contracts, allowing us to discuss all details and determine what works best for you.
To apply, you must have your transport or means to get to work and equipment, hold a City & Guilds 2377 PAT qualification or equivalent, be reliable and honest, as well as have a ‘can‑do’ attitude. All necessary equipment, including testing instruments, measuring devices, and additional tools, must be kept up‑to‑date, in good working order, and meet relevant regulations.

Responsibilities
- Test all appliances, such as microwaves, kettles, computers that require PAT testing, using various types of test instruments designed to check whether electrical items are safe for continued use or need to be replaced or repaired.
- Inform users of the results and explain why certain appliances may be unfit for use.
- Record findings in a dedicated PAT test report book or onto an electronic system and provide employers with a copy.
- Fill out additional paperwork such as completion certificates and checklists.
- Stay organised and ensure all tests are completed accurately and efficiently.
Qualifications
- City & Guilds 2377 PAT qualification or equivalent.
- Self‑employed with own insurance and equipment calibrated at least once a year.
- Reliable, honest, and a ‘can‑do’ attitude.
- Good organisational skills and ability to travel to various locations.
