Job Description:

Electrical Engineer

Cambridge / Peterborough / Milton Keynes / North Home Counties

£50,000-£70,000 + Enhanced Pension + Bonus + Holiday + Training + Progression

Are you an Electrical Engineer looking to take ownership of both design and on-site delivery within the renewable energy sector? Do you want a role that combines technical design, commissioning, and hands‑on site work across exciting commercial heating and BMS projects?

My client is a rapidly expanding renewable energy contractor specialising in large‑scale commercial heat pump and ground‑mounted solar projects. With a strong reputation for quality delivery and a close‑knit team, they are continuing to grow and are now looking for an Electrical Engineer to support both design and project delivery across multiple live sites.

This is a heavily electrical‑biased role with a mix of design, commissioning, and site‑based engineering. You will be involved in electrical design input, BMS systems, heating system integration, commissioning works, and hands‑on support during installation phases. The role offers excellent exposure across the full project lifecycle and is ideal for someone who enjoys both office and site‑based work.

The ideal candidate will be electrically qualified with experience in building services, HVAC, heating systems, or BMS. You will be confident working across design and commissioning stages, with a practical mindset and strong problem‑solving ability. Experience in renewables is beneficial but not essential, as full training will be provided.

Responsibilities

  • Support electrical design across commercial renewable energy projects
  • Work on BMS systems, heating systems, and HVAC integration
  • Carry out commissioning and on‑site engineering activities
  • Liaise with project managers, contractors, and clients
  • Support installation and technical troubleshooting on live sites

Qualifications

  • Electrical engineering background (building services or commercial experience preferred)
  • Experience or interest in BMS, HVAC, heating systems, or commissioning
  • Comfortable working across both design and site‑based work
  • Strong technical mindset with problem‑solving ability
  • Motivated, adaptable, and keen to develop within renewables

We are an equal opportunities company and welcome applications from all suitable candidates.
