Field Based Engineer – Parking Technology

Location: Home based with UK wide travel and overnight stays – North Yorkshire

Job Type: Full-time/Permanent

Reports to: Service Operations Manager

Package: Competitive Salary

Role Overview

To provide comprehensive field‑based electronic and electro‑mechanical engineering support to customers in the UK installing, maintaining, repairing and troubleshooting equipment at customer sites, acting as the primary technical representative.

Key Responsibilities

  • Installations and Commissioning
    • Provide mobile engineering support to the company installations in the field.
    • Set up new equipment at customer locations according to specification.
    • Carry out first line training following installation.
  • Maintenance and Repair
    • Carry out maintenance and repair.
    • Ensure equipment operates efficiently, minimizing downtime.
    • React to faults and incidents relating to equipment throughout the region.
  • Technical Support and Troubleshooting
    • Carry out diagnostic testing.
  • Reporting and Documentation
    • Complete necessary paperwork and use IT systems for adherence to customer support Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
    • Effectively communicate with colleagues in the office and in the field.
  • Customer Relations
    • Liaise with customers to provide technical advice and support.
    • Build positive relationships with customers, providing training and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Safety Compliance
    • Adhering strictly to company and site‑specific health and safety regulations under the Health & Safety at Work Act. All queries relating to health & safety should be raised with a supervisor, manager or HR department.

Person Specification

  • Electrical & Mechanical Engineering experience within a field‑based role is essential.
  • Ability to fault‑find with attention to detail and determination to succeed.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • A desire to build and maintain collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • A self‑starter, conscientious and trustworthy in dealing with revenue‑generating products.
  • A drive and passion for continuous improvement of company products.
  • Ability to work under pressure maintaining a calm persona.
  • Flexible can‑do attitude, willingness to go the extra mile.
  • PC Literate, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Prepared to visit UK Head Office based in Doncaster as required for meetings/training.

Additional Requirements

  • Full UK driver’s licence (not exceeding 6 points).
