Job Description
JR PAT Testing is an expanding PAT and Compliance Company currently looking for engineers to join our team in Otley. We offer self‑employed positions with flexible hours, allowing individuals to work part‑time or full‑time. All applicants must have a reasonable commuting distance to Otley.
This role offers potential earnings on a pro‑rata basis depending on the rate per appliance, the number of tests and job dynamics. Jobs range from one‑day projects to long‑term contracts.
Requirements include transport, City & Guilds 2377 PAT qualification or equivalent, reliability and honesty, a ‘can‑do’ attitude, and up‑to‑date testing equipment meeting relevant regulations.
We are looking for experienced PAT Engineers with equipment and insurance in place. Self‑employed engineers must keep equipment calibrated annually and maintain their own insurance. The company supplies an engineer handbook, contracts, branded clothing, labels and technical support.
Typical Day
A Portable Appliance Testing engineer begins each day by packing necessary tools and equipment into the van. At each site, the engineer tests appliances such as microwaves, kettles, computers, and records findings in a dedicated PAT test book or electronic system. The engineer informs users of results, provides completion certificates, and ensures all tests are completed accurately and efficiently.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education Level: City & Guilds 2377 or equivalent.
- Experience: Proven competence in line with the C&G qualification.
- Employment Type: Self‑employed.
- Location: Otley and commutable areas; national coverage.
