All our engineers must have their own insurance and have testing equipment calibrated at least once a year. In return, we provide an engineer handbook, a contract for services, branded clothing, labels, and technical support.

Job Description
JR PAT Testing is an expanding PAT and Compliance Company currently looking for engineers to join our team in Camelford. The role offers self‑employed positions with flexible hours, allowing you to work part‑time or full‑time.
You must have a reasonable commuting distance to Camelford. You will need transport and the required testing equipment, and you must hold a City & Guilds 2377 PAT qualification or equivalent.
Responsibilities include testing appliances such as microwaves, kettles and computers, recording findings in a dedicated PAT test report book or electronic system, filling out completion certificates and checklists, and keeping all equipment up‑to‑date and in good working order.
Potential earnings are pro‑rated based on the rate per appliance, the number of tests and job dynamics. Jobs range from one‑day projects to long‑term contracts.
A typical day of a portable appliance testing (PAT) engineer
Your day begins with packing up testers, record books and other tools into the van before heading to the first job. At each site you perform safety tests on appliances, inform users of results, explain why an appliance may be unfit for use, and record all findings.
Throughout the day you will travel between multiple locations. Organisation, accuracy and efficiency are essential. The role is physically and mentally demanding but rewarding, offering variety and opportunities for advancement.
