Job Description
JR PAT Testing is an expanding PAT and Compliance Company based in Okehampton, looking for self‑employed PAT Engineers. The role offers flexible hours, part‑time or full‑time work and allows travel across the UK.
A PAT engineer is required to hold a City & Guilds 2377 PAT qualification or equivalent, have reliable transport, and maintain up‑to‑date testing equipment meeting all regulations.
Daily responsibilities include:
- Travel to various sites (hospitals, retail outlets, offices) to test appliances such as microwaves, kettles, computers, and other electrical equipment.
- Use testing instruments to assess electrical safety and determine if appliances are fit for use.
- Inform users of results, explain issues, and provide recommendations for repair or replacement.
- Record findings in a PAT test report book or electronic system and supply copies to employers.
- Complete additional paperwork such as completion certificates and checklists when required.
- Keep all tools and equipment calibrated yearly and in good working order.
Requirements:
- City & Guilds 2377 PAT qualification or equivalent.
- Self‑employed status with own insurance.
- Reliable transport to reach Okehampton and commutable areas.
- Strong attention to detail, honesty, and a can‑do attitude.
- Ability to manage time and travel across multiple locations efficiently.
