Test Engineer – High‑Assurance Software (Defence & Cyber)

Clearance: Active UK Enhanced DV (non‑MOD) required

Overview

An opportunity to join a specialist Defence & Cyber Security organisation working on mission‑critical systems. This role focuses on ensuring high‑assurance software quality within cross‑functional engineering teams, contributing to both testing strategy and execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and execute manual and automated tests across complex systems
• Develop and maintain test automation frameworks
• Perform exploratory and risk‑based testing
• Collaborate with engineers to improve testability and quality
• Contribute to continuous improvement of testing tools, frameworks, and practices

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong foundation in software testing principles
• Experience testing modern web applications (e.g. Angular, React, Vue)
• Exposure to automation tools (e.g. Cypress, Cucumber, Robot Framework)
• Experience building or evolving test frameworks
• Modern tech stacks: MERN, Elasticsearch, Neo4J

Security & Eligibility

• UK Citizen with 10+ years UK residency
• Must hold active Enhanced DV clearance (non‑MOD)
• Willingness to travel to secure client sites
