The department has invested in a New Product Development kitchen onsite, in which industry specific qualifications will be taught at levels 2, 3 and 4. The lecturer will be required to develop the industry qualifications ready for delivery during 2026 including allergen awareness, HACCP, food technology and higher food safety. Experience in this field would be advantageous.
Hours may also be required to teach on catering courses at Levels 1, 2 and 3. You will teach on study programme courses on an ‘as and when required’ basis. In addition to this, you will have the opportunity for further work, which could include evening course delivery, catering clubs, periods of sickness, leave and busy periods.
You must be qualified to a minimum Level 2 (or equivalent) in an appropriate catering or hospitality qualification. Proven, relevant industrial experience is essential. You will preferably have teaching experience but this is not essential and you must be willing to undertake the necessary teacher training.
