Role Overview
Working closely with the other members of the Pastoral Team, the post holder provides day‑to‑day pastoral care, guidance and support for students during their formative years at secondary school.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor wellbeing and provide targeted support for students
- Deliver individual and small group interventions to address emotional, social and behavioural needs
- Communicate regularly with parents/carers, staff and students to ensure a collaborative approach to support
- Undertake relevant safeguarding training and act as a member of the safeguarding team, responding to concerns under the direction of the Designated Safeguarding Lead and senior members of the team
- Monitor behaviour incidents and support with investigations as requested
- Promote positive behaviour, resilience and respectful relationships in line with the Academy’s values
- Promote inclusivity and ensure all students feel valued and safe in school life
Qualifications
- Ability to communicate with students and colleagues effectively
- Contribute to the provision of an effective learning environment for all students
- Have GCSE English and Maths at Grade 5 (C) and above
- Be conscientious with excellent attention to detail
- Motivate students through a commitment to equal opportunities, regardless of background, SEND or prior attainment
- Work as part of a team
