HSE Officer: Drive Safety in Fast-Paced Manufacturing

An automotive component manufacturer with sites across Europe requires a HSE Officer to promote a ‘safety first’ culture within the plant. The ideal candidate will hold a NEBOSH qualification and have experience a fast paced manufacturing environment.

The Role

• Keep up to date with HSE legislation and ensure compliance
• Meet safety KPIs and performance targets
• Manage potential incidents and promote a proactive safety culture
• Maintain and review risk assessments regularly
• Oversee chemical register, COSHH, and safety data sheets
• Support departments with HSE assessments (PUWER, REBA, PCA)
• Monitor safety equipment (eye wash stations, spill kits, first aid areas)
• Prepare HSE reports and dashboards
• Identify hazards and implement corrective actions
• Manage hazardous materials and coordinate safe removal
• Deliver safety training and inductions
• Ensure accurate HSE records and legal compliance
• Conduct audits and inspections

The Person

• Experience in a Health & Safety role (ideally in fast‑paced environments)
• Strong organisation, communication, and ability to prioritise under pressure
• Flexible, adaptable, and able to work independently or in a team
• Proactive with a willingness to learn
• Strong interpersonal skills and integrity
• Able to collaborate across teams and functions
• Capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously
