School Liaison Officer – University Centre Somerset College Group

Location: Strode College, Church Road, Street, Somerset, BA16 0AB

Salary: £26,758 – £28,470 per annum (Scale 5) plus 20.3% employer pension contribution

Contract Type: Permanent, Full Time

Sector: Further Education

Responsibilities

Forge partnerships with local schools to drive recruitment to the college group, ensuring students are well-informed about their next educational steps.

Manage a caseload of prospective students from schools, colleges, agencies, and other organizations, supporting them through the application process.

Deliver engaging presentations to young people and their families to inspire confidence and promote the college’s reputation.

Provide support during busy periods, including application processing and handling enquiries.

Travel to schools and other locations as required, having your own vehicle; travel expenses will be claimed.

If shortlisted, prepare and deliver a short presentation.

Qualifications & Requirements

Previous experience in a similar role within education or recruitment is desirable.

Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage a young audience.

Proactive, self‑motivated, and adaptable to changing demands.
