Salary: Up to £55,000 DOE

Shift Type: 08:30 – 17:00 (Flexible) – Remote Working (Covering the South West)

The Opportunity

A leading employee‑owned engineering consultancy operating across Civil, Structural and Geoenvironmental disciplines is seeking a Senior Geoenvironmental Engineer working remotely covering the South West Region. The business delivers high‑quality technical consultancy services across a wide range of construction and infrastructure projects for major UK and international blue‑chip clients.

You will be joining a well‑established consultancy working at the forefront of the built environment, delivering projects across multiple sectors for some of the world’s leading clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivery of Phase 1 and Phase 2 geoenvironmental reports
  • Design, specification and costing of ground investigation programmes
  • Management of site investigations (including intrusive works)
  • Technical input to remediation strategies and options appraisals
  • Logging soils and rock to industry standards
  • Laboratory scheduling and interpretation of geotechnical and environmental testing
  • Production of high‑quality technical reports and risk assessmentsData analysis and interpretation of complex datasets
  • Client, stakeholder and contractor liaison
  • Supporting junior engineers through mentoring and technical guidance
  • Contribution to engineering geology and foundation design input
  • Ensuring compliance with internal procedures and HSE standards

Requirements

  • Degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Civil Engineering or related discipline
  • Master’s degree desirable
  • Working towards or achieved chartered status (Geological Society, CIWEM, CIEH or equivalent)
  • Minimum 5 years’ relevant post‑graduate experience within consultancy or ground investigation
  • Strong technical understanding of contaminated land and/or geotechnical engineeringExperience managing site investigations and delivering technical reporting
  • Strong analytical and report writing skills
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Willingness to travel and work away from home when required
