Job Overview

Job title: Stores SupervisorReports to: Supply Chain ManagerLocation: Brize Norton, Carterton, Oxfordshire

AAG Defence Services is a MAA Part 145 Approved Maintenance Organisation based in RAF Brize Norton, UK. We work with Airbus Aerospace & Defence to supply MRO services for the Royal Air Force’s A400M fleet.

Job Purpose

Supervisor for the Stores department who ensures the smooth transition of parts into and out of the business, in accordance with MAA regulations and company procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Day-to-day supervision of shift operators to support effective output.
  • Ensure resource availability for required workload.
  • Receipting and processing incoming parts accurately and efficiently onto AMOS.
  • Issue parts at the Stores counter.
  • Understand and enforce health and safety practices.
  • Ensure the safety and security of all assets in the Stores facility.
  • Accurate input of data onto the Stores computer system.
  • Ensure the safety of all aircraft parts, including integrity of labels and packaging.
  • Process US returns.
  • Place orders with contractors for aircraft parts.
  • Manage stock.
  • Account for serviceable spares after maintenance.
  • Undertake other duties as assigned by the Line Manager.

Health and Safety

  • Be aware of personal and others’ health and safety at work, including management responsibilities per the H&S Manual.
  • Be aware of aviation safety responsibilities per the AAGDS Safety Policy, including management responsibilities from the Safety Management Manual.
  • Be aware of aviation security responsibilities per the AAGDS Security Policy.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

  • Use of IT packages including Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Previous experience in an aviation stores environment (preferred).
  • Knowledge of health and safety requirements, lifting and manual handling aids.
  • High level of attention to detail and ability to produce consistent quality work.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Team leadership skills, including mentoring, development, and line management of a small team.

Desirable Skills

  • Knowledge of COSHH and chemicals.
  • Dangerous Goods by Air Certificate (if expired, not more than 30 days).
