Trainee Field Service Engineer

Our client is seeking a Trainee Field Service Engineer to join their established team permanently, covering the Northeast region. This is an excellent opportunity for someone technically minded who enjoys hands‑on work, problem solving and working independently, and is looking to develop a long‑term career within field service engineering.

Full specialist product training will be provided, making this role ideal for someone with transferable mechanical or electrical experience looking to progress into a field‑based (Northeast only) engineering role.

What you’ll be doing:

• Service, maintain and repair industrial/commercial equipment across customer sites
• Attend breakdowns and diagnose faults effectively
• Carry out planned maintenance and repairs
• Provide a professional and customer‑focused service on‑site
• Complete service documentation and reports accurately

What we’re looking for:

• Practical mechanical or electrical experience
• Hands‑on engineering mindset with good problem‑solving ability
• Any field service, maintenance, installation or mechanical fitting experience would be advantageous
• Electrical fault finding knowledge beneficial but not essential
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Comfortable working independently and travelling locally
• Full UK driving licence essential
