We’re excited to offer an opportunity to join our Project Management Team, supporting the Cloud and Infrastructure business in the UK. As part of the Engagement Management Community, you’ll lead the delivery of technology-enabled transformation projects across a variety of sectors and environments—including our rapidly growing Cyber practice. Our team is distributed across the UK and brings together a wide range of skills, from generalists to subject matter experts. What unites us is a shared commitment to delivering excellence and supporting the goals of the organizations we work with.
Hybrid working: The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time.
Your role
As a Project Manager, you’ll receive the training and support needed to grow your career and make a meaningful impact. You’ll be responsible for:
- Leading projects and programmes to deliver in line with contractual and financial commitments
- Managing the delivery and commercial relationship with the client
- Building strong client relationships and exceeding expectations – including in difficult situations and complex and politically complex delivery and commercial discussions
- Meeting engagement targets and identifying opportunities to generate additional value
- Identifying business opportunities and driving sales opportunities
- Acting as a programme or portfolio manager – including managing projects alongside other senior staff in Capgemini
- Ensuring adherence to project management methodologies and financial controls
- Working closely with the technical team and supporting technical governance
- Recovering failing projects in line with contractual and financial commitments
- Working with global delivery teams from a number of geographies in Europe, the USA, and India
- Managing the people on your project to ensure they deliver to time, quality, and cost targets
- Managing people within the wider organization to provide coaching and help them learn from your experience
- Taking part in improvement initiatives across the organization to help drive better ways of working
Your Skills and Experience
We’re looking for individuals who are:
- Motivated and collaborative, with a passion for technology and its potential to transform organizations
- Experienced in managing projects through the full delivery lifecycle, meeting agreed timelines, budgets, and quality standards – with formal governance experience in waterfall and agile methodologies
- Extensive management and leadership skills – including in difficult situations
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to operate at board level, even in difficult situations
- Capable of inducing confidence in senior management regarding judgment around finances, solutions, and commercials
- Experienced in managing external clients via fixed‑price and time‑and‑materials contract types
- Skilled in delivering projects aligned with financial and contractual obligations
- Familiar with requirements gathering, design, build, and implementation
- Able to identify potential sales opportunities, develop relationships to drive sales, and knowledgeable about the sales process and bid management
- Experienced in supporting, mentoring, and coaching project or engagement managers
- Staff management experience
