The O&M Engineer will be responsible for overseeing daily operations and maintenance to ensure the efficient and safe operation of the power plants. He/She will manage O&M contracts and coordinate with various stakeholders to optimise performance and maximise energy production and revenues. This role involves visiting sites to ensure that operations and maintenance activities are carried out as expected.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily O&M activities, monitor performance, resolve operational issues, and ensure compliance with HSE and environmental standards.
  • Develop and manage preventive and corrective maintenance plans to maximize equipment reliability and plant performance.
  • Monitor and analyse operational data, identify performance gaps, and implement optimisation actions to improve energy production and efficiency.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, contractors, suppliers, and regulatory authorities to ensure smooth operations and regulatory compliance.
  • Manage the O&M budget, including forecasting, cost tracking, and identifying efficiency and cost‑saving opportunities.
  • Prepare regular operational, performance, and budget reports for management and stakeholders.
  • Capture and share lessons learned to support continuous improvement across O&M and asset management activities.
  • Support and enforce health, safety, and environmental policies through audits, training, and compliance initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent; master’s degree preferred.
  • Knowledge of solar PV systems, including inverters, trackers, and monitoring systems, is preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.
  • Knowledge of safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
  • Possess strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Self‑disciplined and result‑oriented.
  • Professional working proficiency in English (Italian is a plus).
