Responsibilities
- Identifying cost‑saving opportunities and initiating projects and initiatives at all operational levels.
- Executing and supporting the local RFx process as defined by the broader category strategy.
- Managing regional spot buying for large, special‑request items not covered by existing agreements, including RFP management and supplier selection.
- Negotiating local volumes, quality standards, and pricing in coordination with category management.
- Managing, analysing, and interpreting operational spend data to track realised savings.
- Providing input for supplier performance measurements and maintaining material master databases.
- Serving as a credible procurement representative to the wider business and influencing decision‑making through strong partner relationships.
- Engaging with operations early in the procurement lifecycle to ensure optimum value and process discipline.
- Ensuring compliance with national and regional category strategies and company requirements.
- Championing new ideas and initiatives to drive change and innovation in procurement.
- Complying with safety, health, and environmental regulations and policies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Purchasing, Business, Economics, Engineering or related disciplines.
- Additional relevant postgraduate procurement‑related qualifications are desirable.
- Comprehensive end‑to‑end experience in logistics/ Supply Chain related procurement is essential for this role.
- Expertise in supplier relationship management and engineering‑focused solutions.
- Proven experience in project management and implementation of value generation opportunities.
- Strong strategic sourcing and category management expertise.
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
- Passionate advocate of a cost‑conscious culture.
- Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
- Strong analytical and execution skills with understanding of key cost drivers.
- Good category knowledge (markets, usage, TCO, should‑cost models, etc.) and knowledge of financial concepts, budget management and cost reduction initiatives.
- Proficiency in MS Office, including strong Excel skills.
