We are recruiting a Building Services/Technical Manager for a Tier 1 contractor based near Reading.
Job overview
The role spans the M4 Corridor, Thames Valley and Oxfordshire, focusing on education, public sector, retail, leisure and commercial projects, including new build higher education, primary schools, leisure and retail developments, local authority schemes and NHS projects.
Key responsibilities
- Take full responsibility for services packages across a range of projects, from bid and estimating through to construction and handover.
- Collaborate with bid and estimating teams during the pre‑construction phase to evaluate feasibility, programme times and buildability.
- Work with design, commercial teams and subcontractors to establish best practice, pricing and procedures.
- Oversee services packages on site, manage subcontractors during installation, resolve technical queries and ensure smooth commissioning and handover.
- Operate in a flexible work model, choosing between office, hotdesk, on‑site or remote work as appropriate.
Qualifications and experience
- Experience working for a main contractor or specialist subcontractor with both mechanical and electrical services.
- Experience in pre‑construction and delivery, with demonstrated ability to oversee end‑to‑end service delivery.
- Preference for candidates with a degree, but practical experience from on‑site roles is also valued.
