Position Overview

Schedule and Delivery Technician – Workforce Planning & Optimisation team at Severn Trent.

Based at the Pride Park site, you will coordinate and optimise the scheduling of field operations in Water and Waste across the region.

Responsibilities

  • Liaise with external suppliers, field managers, operatives, local planning authorities and customers to schedule emergency and planned repair, renewal and installation works.
  • Manage day-to‑day workflow, redistributing tasks as priorities and service levels change to meet customer and business needs.
  • Monitor real‑time workflows against service levels and Key Performance Indicators to ensure targets are met.
  • Use the planning tool to prioritise and schedule both customer‑appointed and proactive work to field technicians and repair crews.
  • Communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders to manage expectations and maintain high service quality.

Qualifications

  • Proactive, organised and able to work to defined service levels.
  • Strong administrative skills and experience with continuous improvement or problem‑solving techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships with customers and internal teams.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure, switch between high‑priority tasks and adapt quickly.

Working Hours & Shift Details

You will work within a working window of 06:30 – 20:00 on an 11‑week rota, working 2 weekends in 11.

  • Early shift – 06:30 to 14:30 (4 weeks out of 10)
  • Day shift – 08:00 to 16:00 (4 weeks out of 10)
  • Late shift – 12:00 to 20:00 (2 weeks out of 10)
  • Your weekend shifts will be between 06:30 and 16:00 (2 weekends out of 10)
  • Finish 30 minutes earlier on Fridays for early or day shifts; start 30 minutes later on Fridays for late shifts.
