Job Overview

We offer a brilliant used car line‑up, fantastic value and an easy‑to‑access location in Anchorage Park. We are a short drive from Portsmouth town centre or a 10‑minute walk from Hilsea train station. In this role you will support the after‑sales department, delivering excellent in‑person customer service to our new and repeat customers.

Contract: 45 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8.00 am to 5.30 pm.

The Opportunity: As a Service Advisor you will be the first point of contact for customers bringing their vehicle in for a service.

Responsibilities

  • Meeting and greeting customers;
  • Booking vehicles into the diary;
  • Ensuring the customer database is updated and accurate;
  • Support the profitability of the service department by using trained and professional sales techniques;
  • Ensuring customers are familiar with the variety of workshop services;
  • Accurately recording vehicle faults;
  • Liaising with the service technicians to keep track of vehicle progress and ensuring the vehicle is ready for customer collection on time;
  • Obtaining authority and payments for repairs;
  • Effective communication skills (verbal and written) to professionally interact with customers (face to face and over the phone);
  • Excellent organisation skills;
  • Able to manage your time effectively to prioritise your workload and meet tight deadlines;
  • Self‑motivated, energetic and enthusiastic.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Good standard of verbal and numerical reasoning;
  • Core skills in computing (essential), including web systems, email and use of Excel, with a keen eye for detail;
  • Previous experience in a target‑driven role (desirable but not essential);
  • Experience with CDK (desirable but not essential);
  • A full UK driving licence.

Hendy Induction: Please be advised that any new starters joining the business from the 1st June will, in their first week, be expected to attend a structured induction programme that will involve 2 days at our training academy in Portsmouth. More details will be shared at interview.
