Overview
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for experienced and motivated business-oriented technologists with a balance of business knowledge, interpersonal skills, and depth in analytics/big data, machine learning, and generative artificial intelligence. This role focuses on helping customers enhance business or operational outcomes through advanced and emerging technologies.
The role involves partnering with customers, AWS Sales, service teams, industry teams, and Professional Services to craft industry-specific programs that serve customer needs and extend to other customers within the industry. You will leverage a programmatic approach to help customers drive business metrics across industry-specific needs. As a trusted customer advocate, the Generative AI Strategist will assess and deliver best practices around program delivery, project approaches, and business measurement. Connecting business value to a scalable, repeatable, extensible approach is critical to the role.
Responsibilities
- Bring alignment between customer’s technologists and business leads; help them explore the art of the possible with generative AI and machine learning, and develop a roadmap to deliver business value.
- Discuss complex industry-specific business concepts with executives, line managers and technologists.
- Engage with various AWS teams, including applied scientists, solutions architects, business development, marketing, industry specialists, partners and regional organizations.
- Drive large, complex sales opportunities from ideation, vision building, and scoping through closure and delivery.
- Ensure customer success in ideating and deploying proof of concept projects on the AWS platform, enabling movement to production solutions.
- Educate customers on the value proposition of AWS and participate in deep business discussions to ensure solutions capture business value and drive success metrics.
- Conduct workshop sessions to identify opportunities to deliver business value through generative AI or machine learning.
- Capture and operationalize best-practice knowledge for enterprises looking to drive generative AI or machine learning more holistically (e.g., deploying a customer center of excellence).
- Author or contribute to AWS customer-facing publications such as whitepapers.
- Build deep relationships with senior customer stakeholders to foster advocacy of industry and advanced technology solutions.
- Evangelize and enable AWS teams to collaborate with the Generative AI Innovation Center, including solutions architects, business development, marketing, industry specialists, delivery teams, partners and regional organizations.
- Act as a business liaison between customers, services, technologists and support.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, or experience in a professional field or military
- Experience as technical specialist in design and architecture
- Experience in database (e.g., SQL, NoSQL, Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Kinesis)
- Experience in consulting, design and implementation of serverless distributed solutions
- Experience in cloud-based solutions (AWS or equivalent), systems, networks and operating systems
- Experience in external or internal customer-facing, complex and large-scale project management
- Experience with one or more object-oriented programming languages (e.g., Java, C/C++, Python)
- Experience integrating AWS cloud services with on-premise technologies (e.g., Microsoft, IBM, Oracle, HP, SAP)
- Experience in automation or monitoring frameworks, deployment or development
- Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery
- Experience implementing a cloud-based technology solution, or experience with systems administration, network administration, or programming
- Degree in advanced technology or equivalent experience in customer-facing, large-scale project management
Preferred Qualifications
- Can communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple demands from internal/external stakeholders and customers
- Ability to collaborate with global/enterprise account sales and delivery teams to drive adoption of AI/ML solutions into top accounts
- Experience and passion for designing and developing innovative AI/ML solutions leveraging natural language processing, computer vision, and statistical learning theory
- Ability to communicate complex topics to audiences with varied knowledge, including strong presentation skills
- Strategic thinking about business, product, and technical problems; ability to develop strategic data modeling processes and identify cause-and-effect relationships
