Children’s Residential Home Deputy Manager – 3 Bed EBD
Salary: £31,072 – £32,900 p.a. Job Type: Permanent, Full Time – up to 40 hours per week Annual Sleep-In Allowance: £2,980 – £4,960 (based on 6–10 sleeps per month across 10.5 months) Location: Grantham

Your role will involve:
- Providing a nurturing environment where the physical and emotional needs of children and young people are met, acting as a positive role model
- Supporting the Registered Manager in achieving the aims and objectives outlined in the Statement of Purpose
- Helping to develop systems that ensure young people are consulted about the quality of care they receive
- Supporting and managing staff to meet the individual needs of children and young people
- Ensuring each young person is allocated a key worker
- Ensuring staff understand each child’s placement plan and their responsibilities in delivering it
- Attending childcare reviews and planning meetings to contribute information and achieve the best outcomes for young people
- Ensuring resources are appropriately allocated and financial records are accurately maintained
- Working on a rota basis, including weekends, sleep‑ins, and on‑call duties, in line with the needs of the home
- Carrying out any other reasonable duties as directed by the Registered Manager
- Deputising in the absence of the Registered Manager
- Working collaboratively with multi‑agency professionals to achieve the best possible outcomes for young people
- Playing a key role in implementing positive change within the home
- Continuously improving services, systems, and standards alongside the Registered Manager and Senior Leadership Team
Experience and Qualifications Required:
- Diploma / NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People’s Workforce (or equivalent)
- Working towards a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Children, Young People and Families
- Knowledge of the Children’s Act and relevant legislation
- Strong supervision and team management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Understanding of the needs of children with BESD/EBD, including managing challenging behaviour
- Excellent organisational skills
- Ability to motivate and support staff teams
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience working with young people in a residential setting
- A full clean manual driving licence held for at least 1 year
- Ability to reliably commute to or relocate to Grantham, Lincolnshire prior to starting work (required)
