We are partnering with a prominent consumer platform undergoing a major digital transformation and seek a Lead / Staff Full-Stack Engineer to join as a hands‑on contributor with strong end‑to‑end ownership.
This role involves full‑stack development across backend and frontend, coupled with technical ownership of solutions, focusing on building scalable, high‑quality systems within a modern cloud‑native environment.
About the Role
As a Lead / Staff Full‑Stack Engineer, you will design and deliver comprehensive solutions spanning backend services, frontend applications, and cloud infrastructure. You will work in a modern, collaborative environment prioritising performance, reliability, and user experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop full‑stack solutions balancing backend robustness with exceptional user experiences
- Build and maintain backend services using Kotlin, adhering to clean architecture principles
- Create modern frontend applications using React, Next.js, and TypeScript
- Own API design, integration, and lifecycle management (Apigee)
- Contribute to system design and make informed technical decisions
- Write clean, maintainable, and high‑quality code
Cloud and DevOps
- Design and operate cloud‑native solutions on Azure or AWS
- Work with containerised environments such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and modern delivery practises
- Implement observability across systems, including logging, metrics, tracing, and alerting
Engineering Standards and Collaboration
- Establish and uphold engineering standards and best practises
- Support colleagues through code reviews and technical guidance
- Collaborate closely with Product, DevOps, and Architecture teams
- Contribute to designing scalable, secure, and maintainable systems
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Senior, Lead, or Staff Full‑Stack Engineer in hands‑on roles
- Strong backend development skills using Kotlin
- Solid frontend experience with React, Next.js, and TypeScript
- Experience building and operating cloud‑based systems (Azure or AWS)
- Hands‑on experience with containerisation and distributed systems
- Strong knowledge of API management, preferably Apigee
- Deep understanding of observability and production system monitoring
- Experience delivering scalable, production‑grade systems
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence technical decisions
Desirable
- Experience working in complex, distributed environments
- Familiarity with CI/CD and DevOps practises
- Experience modernising legacy platforms or systems
