Job Description:

We are seeking a technical leader to join the StoresBST Differentiated Security Team (DST) Leadership Team. This role is responsible for leading two of DST’s four charters: Merger and Acquisition (M&A) Security Integration for the EMEA and APAC region and Differentiated Security Initiatives (DSI).


As the M&A Security Integration lead for EMEA and APAC, this manager will operate under the direction of the Sr. Manager, SDO Security Integration, driving security onboarding for acquisitions from deal close through full integration across the EMEA region. This includes coordinating cross‑functional security workstreams, managing post‑close security findings, and ensuring acquired business units meet Amazon’s security standards within established timelines. This technical leader will manage a geographically‑dispersed team of security engineers and technical program managers.


As the DSI charter owner, this manager will lead special projects that address security gaps in differentiated environments that introduce risk within Stores. This requires identifying emerging security challenges, scoping initiatives, and delivering solutions that reduce risk exposure across differentiated assets at scope and scale.


The ideal candidate is a people manager who thrives in ambiguous, fast‑paced environments, can balance concurrent workstreams across M&A integration and security initiatives, and demonstrates strong cross‑organizational collaboration skills. This leader will manage a team of security engineers and program managers while partnering closely with SDO stakeholders, acquired business unit leadership, and the broader StoresBST organization to deliver measurable security outcomes.


Key job responsibilities


M&A Security Integration (EMEA)



  • Lead end‑to‑end security onboarding for EMEA acquisitions from deal close through full integration, under direction of the Sr. Mgr, SDO Security Integration

  • Manage pre‑close security findings, post‑close conditions, and security remediation timelines for acquired business units in the EMEA region

  • Coordinate with cross‑functional stakeholders (Legal, Corporate Development, Network Engineering, BU leadership) to ensure security requirements are met at each integration milestone

  • Track and report on M&A security metrics including finding closure rates, overdue conditions, and integration health status

  • Partner with SDO‑wide M&A peers and Business Security Teams (BSTs) to maintain consistency in security integration standards and playbooks across regions


Differentiated Security Initiatives (DSI)



  • Own and drive the DSI charter, identifying and scoping special projects that address security gaps in non‑standard Amazon endpoints and other differentiated environments that introduce risk within Stores

  • Prioritize, manage, and coordinate with core security teams a portfolio of security initiatives based on risk impact, business criticality, and resource availability

  • Develop and deliver solutions that reduce risk exposure across differentiated assets not covered by standard security tooling or processes

  • Collaborate with engineering teams, service owners, and security partners to invent and simplify implementation of security controls for non‑standard environments


Leadership & Team Management



  • Serve as a member of the StoresBST global DST Leadership Team, contributing to team strategy, planning, and cross‑charter coordination

  • Hire, develop, and manage a team of security engineers; provide coaching, career development, and performance management

  • Prepare for and represent DST in stakeholder forums, business reviews, and leadership engagements across Stores and SDO

  • Drive operational excellence through clear goal‑setting, mechanisms, and metrics that demonstrate charter impact


Qualifications and Experience



  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field

  • Knowledge of security of web services, video content protection technologies, cryptography, network security protocols and operating system security

  • Experience in managing and developing teams

  • Experience in progressive work within a software security team or related operating environment

  • Experience applying threat modeling or other risk identification techniques or equivalent, information security professional certification (SANS GIAC, CISSP etc.)

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field

  • Knowledge of information security technologies such as security design review, threat modeling, risk analysis, and software testing techniques

  • Experience managing remote team members
