Overview
Satāya is representing a well-established luxury hotel in Central London in their search for a Senior Events Manager. This is a senior commercial and operational leadership role within a respected five-star property with a strong reputation in the London market.
The hotel operates a broad and well-regarded events offering alongside a collection of dining outlets, a spa and wellbeing facility, and a substantial rooms operation. The events portfolio spans a wide range of formats and client types, from corporate meetings and private dining through to large-scale receptions and high-profile celebrations.
The Senior Events Manager will take full ownership of the department — leading strategy, driving revenue, overseeing operations and developing a high-performing team. This is a role for someone who combines genuine commercial awareness with a clear understanding of what exceptional, high-touch event delivery looks like at the top end of the London market.
Scope of Role
1) Strategic Leadership & Departmental Performance
- Lead the overall direction and performance of the Events & Groups department, taking accountability for revenue targets, conversion rates and profitability.
- Develop and implement sales and revenue strategies in line with wider hotel commercial objectives.
- Manage forecasting, pricing, inventory and pipeline across the full events and groups portfolio.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities, growing market share within the London luxury events space.
- Represent the hotel at senior level with clients, agencies and key business partners.
2) Event Delivery & Guest Experience
- Oversee the end-to-end management of all group bookings, corporate events, private functions and hotel-sponsored events.
- Ensure seamless coordination between sales, planning and operational teams throughout the event lifecycle.
- Maintain the highest standards of personalised service at every guest touchpoint, from initial enquiry through to post-event follow-up.
- Take personal ownership of high-profile, large-scale and VIP events where the stakes and expectations are at their greatest.
3) Team Leadership & Commercial Collaboration
- Lead, coach and develop the Events & Groups team, fostering a culture of high performance, accountability and genuine hospitality.
- Work closely with the wider commercial and operational teams — including food and beverage, rooms and finance — to ensure alignment and effective communication.
- Drive a collaborative approach to leadership that keeps the department well-integrated across the hotel.
- Set and manage performance expectations clearly, supporting team members through structured development and mentoring.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Proven track record leading an Events & Groups function within a luxury five-star hotel environment, ideally in London or a comparable major city.
- Strong commercial background with demonstrable success in driving revenue growth, improving conversion and managing P&L.
- Experienced in managing a diverse portfolio of events — corporate, private, VIP and high-profile — with the operational rigour to deliver consistently at scale.
- A confident and credible leader who can develop a team while remaining close to the detail where it matters.
- Excellent negotiation and relationship management skills, with an established network in the London luxury events market.
- Highly organised and composed under pressure, with strong communication skills across all levels of a business.
- Commercially literate and comfortable working across forecasting, budgeting and revenue management processes.
- Genuinely passionate about luxury hospitality and the standards it demands.
