Job Description:

A drilling contractor based in Glasgow is looking to appoint an Engineering Geologist / Geo-Environmental Engineer to support a range of ground investigation projects across Scotland and the North of England.

This role would suit someone with experience in site investigation who is comfortable managing site operations, overseeing subcontractors and carrying out factual logging on a variety of schemes.

The Role

  • Supervising ground investigation works on site
  • Managing drilling crews and subcontractors
  • Core logging to current industry standards
  • Soil and rock classification in accordance with BS5930
  • Overseeing trial pits, window sampling and rotary drilling operations
  • Organising samples and laboratory testing
  • Maintaining site records and health & safety documentation
  • Liaising with clients, engineers and project teams
  • Assisting with factual reporting where required

Requirements

  • Degree in Geology, Engineering Geology, Geo-Environmental Engineering or similar
  • Previous experience within ground investigation or site investigation
  • Strong core logging experience
  • Good understanding of health & safety procedures on site
  • Ability to manage multiple site activities and communicate effectively with drilling teams
  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable

  • CSCS card
  • First Aid qualification
  • Experience working for a drilling contractor or GI specialist
  • Knowledge of geotechnical and contaminated land investigations

Package

  • Salary between £32,000 – £35,000 depending on experience
  • Company vehicle or allowance
