BMS Design Engineer

London / Remote / Basingstoke

£65,000 – £75,000 + Benefits + Pension + Car Allowance

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced BMS Design Engineer to join a growing engineering team delivering innovative building automation and energy management solutions across commercial and industrial projects throughout the UK.

This is a fully remote role based around London projects, offering the opportunity to work on high-profile developments while maintaining flexibility and work-life balance.

You will be responsible for producing high-quality BMS design documentation, supporting project delivery teams, and ensuring systems are designed to meet client specifications, energy efficiency targets, and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce detailed BMS design packages including control panel drawings, network architecture, and points schedules
  • Develop control strategies and functional design specifications
  • Create HVAC schematic drawings and system layouts
  • Support project teams through design, commissioning, and delivery phases
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal engineering teams
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and project standards
  • Assist with technical submittals and engineering documentation
  • Provide technical support for upgrades, retrofits, and new installations

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a BMS Design Engineer within the building automation industry
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems and control philosophies
  • Experience with BMS platforms such as Trend, Tridium, Siemens, Schneider, Honeywell, or Johnson Controls
  • Ability to produce and interpret technical drawings and schematics
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and relevant design software
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Full right to work in the UK

Desirable

  • Experience working on large commercial or critical environment projects
  • Knowledge of energy management and smart building technologies
  • Electrical or mechanical engineering qualification
  • Commissioning or project engineering background
