Interim Legal Counsel
A boutique investment and private equity firm is looking to appoint an Interim Legal Counsel for an initial 6 month assignment, with potential for extension or longer-term opportunities thereafter.
The role sits within a lean, highly involved legal team where lawyers are closely embedded in transactions and investment activity rather than purely managing external counsel. This is a hands-on position suited to someone who enjoys operating close to the business and taking ownership of execution work directly.
The successful candidate is likely to have around 4 PQE, although strong candidates outside of this range will still be considered.
Key areas of focus are expected to include:
Funds work and investor-related matters
Corporate and M&A transactions
Drafting and negotiation of transaction documentation
Supporting deal execution from start to finish
Working closely with investment professionals and senior stakeholders
Managing external counsel where appropriate whilst remaining actively involved in the detail
The environment is fast-paced, collegiate and highly commercial, making this well suited to someone comfortable operating within a lean team structure.
Experience within private equity, investment management, alternative investments or broader financial services environments would be particularly relevant.
The role is primarily office-based in St James’s, London.
