Project Finance Associate – 3-8 PQE – London – US Law Firm
We are working with a white shoe US law firm in London who are looking for a Project Finance Associate to join one of the market’s most highly regarded Project, Energy & Infrastructure Finance teams. This is a standout role for a 3-8 PQE lawyer looking to work on some of the most complex, high-value and strategically important projects in the global market, across energy transition, renewables, power, oil & gas, mining, digital infrastructure, telecoms, transport and broader infrastructure.
The team advises on the financing and development of major international projects, acting for a sophisticated client base that includes sponsors, lenders, export credit agencies, multilateral institutions, commercial banks, funds, underwriters, governments and project companies. The work is genuinely cross-border, often involving emerging markets, Middle East and Africa mandates, first-of-a-kind structures, multi-sourced financings and large-scale capital deployment.
The Role
You will be joining a London team that is deeply embedded in global project finance, with exposure to market-leading partners and complex transactions across:
• Project finance
• Energy and infrastructure finance
• Renewable energy and energy transition
• Oil & gas and LNG
• Power and conventional energy
• Mining, metals and natural resources
• Digital infrastructure, telecoms and data centres
• Transport, ports, airports and broader infrastructure
• Export credit agency and multilateral-backed financings
• Acquisition financings, refinancing’s and restructurings
• Emerging markets and complex cross-border transactions
This is the type of platform where you can build a genuinely international project finance practice, work directly with elite clients and senior lawyers, and gain exposure to landmark, high-profile and often pioneering transactions.
The ideal candidate
We are keen to speak with England & Wales qualified solicitors, or common law qualified lawyers with strong London market experience, who have:
• 3-8 PQE in project finance, energy finance, infrastructure finance or closely related finance work
• Experience from a top-tier international, US, Magic Circle, Silver Circle or leading City practice
• Strong drafting, transaction management and client-facing skills
• Exposure to lenders, sponsors, ECAs, DFIs, multilaterals or complex financing structures
• A genuine interest in energy, infrastructure, renewables, transition assets and cross-border development
• The confidence to take responsibility on sophisticated, fast-moving transactions
Candidates with strong general banking and finance experience who are looking to specialise further in project finance may also be considered, particularly where they have exposure to infrastructure, energy, acquisition finance or emerging markets work.
Why this opportunity stands out
• Elite US law firm platform
• Highly ranked project finance practice
• London-based role with global deal flow
• Exceptional partner access and high-quality training
• Top-of-market work and compensation
