Senior HR Advisor

Our client, a well-established and growing organisation, is looking to recruit an experienced Senior HR Advisor to join their Head Office team based in Chapel Allerton. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident and proactive HR professional looking for a varied, hands-on role within a fast-paced environment.

Working closely with the HR Manager and senior leadership team, the successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the business across the full employee lifecycle, including employee relations, performance management, onboarding, wellbeing initiatives, HR policy development and payroll support.

This role is fully office based, with occasional travel to the Sheffield site, therefore a full UK driving licence and access to a car would be highly advantageous.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing onboarding, inductions and probation processes for new starters
  • Supporting employee relations matters including disciplinaries, grievances, absence management and capability issues
  • Providing HR advice and guidance to managers and employees across the business
  • Coordinating annual appraisal processes and producing HR reports
  • Supporting payroll administration and employee benefits processes
  • Assisting with HR policy development and ensuring compliance across the business
  • Supporting health & wellbeing initiatives and employee support programmes
  • Building strong relationships with stakeholders across Head Office and operational sites
  • Maintaining accurate HR records and ensuring GDPR compliance at all times

Experience & Skills Required:

  • Proven experience within a HR Advisor / Senior HR Advisor role (3–5 years+)
  • CIPD Level 5 qualified (essential)
  • Strong employee relations experience
  • Good working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
  • Previous payroll administration experience
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Confident communicator with the ability to build relationships at all levels
  • Experience within a multi-site environment would be advantageous
  • Construction, engineering or SME sector experience desirable but not essential

Additional Information:

  • Fully office based in Chapel Allerton (LS7)
  • Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week
  • Salary £38,000 – £40,000 depending on experience
  • Occasional travel to Sheffield site required
