Sales Development Representative — Self-Employed Contractor (Remote or Hybrid, Full or Part Time)

We’re looking for a passionate relationship builder who can open doors, book meetings and help develop sales opportunities — and who wants the flexibility and independence of working as a self-employed contractor rather than as a PAYE employee.

This is a self-employed consultancy engagement, not an employed role. You’ll invoice us on an agreed day rate, be responsible for your own tax and National Insurance (or local equivalent), and carry your own professional indemnity insurance. If you’re looking for a salary, holiday pay, pension contributions or other employee benefits, this engagement isn’t the right fit.

We have a strong preference for candidates based in the UK, US or Canada. For data security and information governance reasons, applications from candidates based and authorised to work in one of these three countries will be prioritised.

Successful candidates will be required to complete a basic background/security check, carried out in their country of residence, before being granted access to our internal systems. This is in line with our information security and data protection commitments to our customers.

The role

Working directly with our new business sales and marketing teams, your focus will be booking qualified new business meetings:

• Prospecting and lead generation — identifying and researching organisations that fit our ideal customer profile

• Outbound outreach — initiating contact through phone, email and social channels

• Lead qualification — assessing interest, budget and need against agreed criteria

• Booking meetings — scheduling qualified meetings and demonstrations for Account Executives

• Reporting and tracking outcomes

• Collaboration — working closely with sales and marketing colleagues on strategy and messaging

Required skills and experience

• Excellent verbal, written and listening communication

• Strong organisation and time management — comfortable managing a high volume of activity

• Proficiency with CRM systems and modern sales tools

• Persistence, self-motivation and the discipline that goes with self-employed working

• Prior SDR, BDR or outbound prospecting experience preferred

Commercial terms

• Day rate and weekly commitment to be agreed — we have flexibility on both

• Monthly invoicing, paid within 14 days of approved invoice

• Initial probation period with a short notice period, continuing by agreement thereafter

• Remote or hybrid (occasional visits to the office in Reading are possible with time and travel costs reimbursed)
