Are you an experienced Commercial Manager or Quantity Surveyor looking to take the next step in your career? We are seeking a commercially driven professional to join a growing Projects & Pre-Construction team in a brand-new role, supporting the successful delivery of high-profile industrial installation projects.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered profitably, on time, and with minimal commercial risk. Based predominantly from the Horndean office, you will work closely with Project Managers, Pre-Construction, Finance, and Operational teams to drive commercial performance across multiple projects.
Package
- Basic salary up to £65,000 per annum
- Quarterly bonus scheme including personal and company profit share (uncapped)

Key Responsibilities
Contract Review & Risk Management
- Review draft contracts alongside the Sales and Pre-Construction teams
- Identify and mitigate commercial and contractual risks
- Negotiate amendments and contract terms with clients where required
- Ensure projects are set up correctly from a commercial perspective
Commercial Management
- Oversee contract administration throughout the project lifecycle
- Manage commercial escalations, variations, and change control procedures
- Ensure additional works and variations are captured, valued, and recovered
- Monitor and administer contractual notices, including EWN’s and related NEC/JCT requirements
Cashflow & Applications
- Work closely with Project Managers to produce and monitor project cashflow forecasts
- Manage payment applications and ensure accurate monthly valuations are submitted
- Lead on larger and more complex Applications for Payment (AFPs)
- Resolve payment issues, including pay less notices and commercial disputes where necessary
- Ensure strong supporting documentation is maintained to maximise cash recovery
Budget & Procurement Control
- Support the setup and management of project budgets
- Monitor project spend, margins, and ongoing cost performance
- Assist with procurement strategy and oversee major package purchases
- Drive continuous improvement across procurement and commercial processes
About You
- Proven experience in a Commercial Manager or Quantity Surveyor role within the construction industry
- Experience working on M&E or specialist subcontract projects is desirable
- Strong understanding of standard forms of contract, particularly NEC and JCT
- Experience managing projects valued at £1m+
- Excellent commercial awareness, negotiation, and organisational skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management software (Procure experience advantageous)
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites if required
