We are recruiting for a Commodity Manager to join a well-established business in Telford, with multiple sites.
If you have strategic buying or procurement experience, this could be a brilliant opportunity for you, where you can further develop your skills and experience. It offeres an opportunity to take ownership of multiple key commodity areas across a global supply chain.
You will be driving cost optimisation, supplier performance and long-term sourcing strategy within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
The role would suit someone commercially focused, analytical and confident managing supplier relationships and performance.
What you’ll be doing as a Commodity Manager
• Developing and implementing sourcing strategies across multiple commodity areas
• Managing supplier relationships, performance and negotiations
• Leading RFQs, cost modelling and value analysis projects
• Driving cost reduction and continuous improvement initiatives
• Monitoring market trends and supply chain risks
• Supporting engineering and operational teams with supplier selection and new product introduction
• Managing contracts, commercial agreements and supplier risk
What they are looking for in a Commodity Manager
• Previous commodity management or strategic buying or procurement experience
• Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills
• Experience managing supplier performance
• Strong Excel skills
