We are a construction technology startup building software that solves a problem almost everyone in the industry recognises immediately.
Construction sites still run on WhatsApp groups, phone calls, scattered drawings, and information that never reaches the right person at the right time. We built BuildersAI to fix that.
The platform is already live across iOS, Android, and web, and is being used daily on real UK construction projects. One engineer built the current product in under six months, including document management, plan storage and search, photo capture, site coordination, offline sync, certifications and compliance tracking, and an AI assistant that site managers use in plain English to get site briefings, create tasks, and communicate with their teams.
We are now looking for a second technical co-founder to help take the company to the next stage.
Where we are
This is not an idea-stage startup. We have a working product, active users, and a commercial pipeline that is converting.
We hold a full residency with SetSquared Bristol, one of Europe’s leading university incubators, and are building relationships across universities, local government, and the wider construction ecosystem. We are also preparing for an investment round in Q3 2026.
Both founders are working full-time on the business. The company structure is clean, investor readiness work is complete, and the foundations are in place to scale quickly.
What you will work on
The platform’s core features are all in active daily use. This role is primarily focused on expanding the AI capabilities that sit across all of them, making the product smarter, faster, and more useful for the people relying on it on site every day.
You will work across:
- AI product development inside the mobile app
- React Native (Expo)
- Supabase
- Vercel AI SDK
- Product architecture and technical direction
- Building the long-term engineering culture of the company
This is not a typical engineering hire. You will have meaningful influence over the product, roadmap, and technical direction of the business from an early stage.
What we are looking for
We are looking for someone who has shipped a mobile product before and understands what good execution looks like at an early-stage company.
You should:
- Be comfortable building AI-powered products
- Care about product quality as much as code quality
- Want to build something significant from an early stage
- Be excited by solving real operational problems for real users
Construction experience is not required. An interest in building practical tools that people genuinely rely on is.
This is a genuine co-founder opportunity with meaningful equity. We are not looking for contractors, agencies, or short-term involvement.
The opportunity
UK construction employs more than two million people, yet much of the industry still operates through WhatsApp, phone calls, spreadsheets, and disconnected systems.
The market is enormous and the technology adoption gap is obvious.
We already have a working product, real-world usage, strong early feedback, and institutional backing behind us. The work from here is scaling and expansion, not searching for a problem to solve.
